4 ways to get back on track with your health goals

Many months have passed by since January when you set your yearly goals. How many of those have you kept? Get back on track with your health goals now – don’t wait until the end of the year to start over!

Here are 4 ways to get back on track with your health goals today:

Drink more water

Water is absolutely essential for health and wellness. Most people are told to drink 6-8 glasses of water a day and while this is a great start, you need to base your number of glasses on your physical activity, health, and diet. Water makes up about 60 percent of our body weight – how crazy is that? There are many benefits of being hydrated, but some of them are a boost in your mood, protection against diseases, weight loss, higher levels of energy, lower allergy and asthma risk, acne reduction, lower blood pressure, and it also flushes out unwanted bacteria from the bladder and kidney, which is very important.

In addition to drinking more water, you should also make sure that you are eating healthy! If you are working towards a weight loss or gain program, you probably know the saying “abs are made in the kitchen.” Well, it’s true. Weight loss aside, healthy eating can help you become more energized, it can help with disease prevention, and your overall health. The nutrients in the foods you eat support the activities of day-to-day living, protect your cells from environmental damage and repair any cellular damage that might occur. Protein rebuilds injured tissue and promotes a healthy immune system. Both carbohydrates and fats fuel your body, while vitamins and minerals function throughout your body in support of your body’s processes.

Vitamins A, C and E, for example, act as antioxidants to protect your cells against toxins, and B vitamins help you extract energy from the foods you eat. Calcium and phosphorus keep your bones strong, while sodium and potassium help to transmit nerve signals. Without a healthy diet, you might compromise any of these essential functions.

Get back on track with exercising

Do you need to get back on track with exercising, but you haven’t had the drive to do it yourself? Maybe consider joining a gym that will give you the push you need, such as CrossFit Solid Orange!

CrossFit gym in Nashville might not be hard to come by, but one with a community backing you the entire way? CrossFit Solid Orange is your answer for that. They say, “

We opened our doors in 2016 putting an emphasis on helping people keep coming back that had trouble ‘sticking’ to a workout program. Getting back on track with exercise can be challenging, but it’s much easier when you have a workout tribe behind you, and a fun gym, with 5-star reviews!

Fine-tune your supplements

Now, I’m not saying to just choose random supplements to add into your diet, but you should have your blood drawn with your doctor to see where you need to supplement. One supplement that is a good option for *most* people? Magnesium! Most people are deficient and deficiency can cause issues that have been so underlying that we don’t even notice them anymore! Brain fog, headaches, muscle cramps, pms, body odor, poor digestion, hormonal imbalances, and more. Either way, your best bet is to go through your doctor. See what they recommend! Most vitamins and supplements on the market are not-so-great, contain a lot of additives, and do not really work to improve your health. Start with a healthy diet and then fine-tune your supplements, but in the meantime, throw out the ones that have added sugar and other junk in them!

Good air quality is important

Air quality is everything when it comes to health and wellness – and that starts within your home. Add in house plants, open windows, choose less toxic furniture, and get rid of artificial fragrance. You could also look into a really high-quality air purifier. This will keep your family healthier, which is so important!
